The boys are back and fiercer than ever!

"We were a unit tonight, moving as one. Even apart, we are deadly, but when combined – we are f**kin’ unstoppable." ~~ God ~~

Atlanta's notorious narcotics task force is at it again. They are stronger, bigger, and better than ever. Especially when a city councilman sends RECON Marine, Edwin Steele - who’s been blacklisted from his Oakland department - to join the team. God and Day weren't recruiting. They have a lot on their plates, like the fact they're supposed to be getting married soon. They don't have the time or the patience to integrate a decorated war hero with a slight chip on his shoulder into their well-oiled machine.

A hothead that's uncontrollable and terrible with authority… but wasn’t that their team motto?

Steele was ready to hang up his shield. He was done fighting with bigoted bastards that couldn't respect the job. He was good at fighting; he just needed the right team to fight with. When his uncle - City Councilman, Rasmus Steele - shows him a video of God's team in action, he knows right away, it's where his nephew belongs in order to restore his faith.

Steele pointed to the driver, a behemoth of a man wielding those massive firearms like a true beast… like a soldier. “And him. Who the hell is he?”

“That’s your new boss. Lieutenant Cashel Godfrey… they call him… God.”

Steele was skeptical about his new placement, but when he meets God's technology specialist/computer genius, “Tech,” he's willing to give it his all, and he definitely shows and proves.

Tech is stunning. His sweater vest and khakis, a stark contrast to the blue-jeaned roughnecks he works with. A beautiful sheep amongst the wolves. Steel thinks there's no way the brilliant man would be interested in a hardhead like him, but Tech has a few badass hidden talents of his own and manages to fool him... fool all of them.

Intense—non-stop—action. . .at its best.  The kind you feel moving up your spine—ratcheting your nerves higher—And, then. . .a hush settles over your senses—your breathing slows because you realize you are holding it.

The shots were getting louder. . .closer.

One of my favorite lines—with all the feels!!! ...“You hear that, Ro? Hang in there. He’s here.”

Utter jubilation-exhilarating and great storytelling. And that’s just the first chapter.

So, yeah, that happened…and then Steele.

 OMG, Edwin Steele walks in.

Sex on a stick with attitude, who develops—rather quickly-—a soft spot for Shawn Murphy, aka, Tech, the office nerd, genius, hacker, comms specialist, and the one that keeps the men safe with all of his electrical gadgets and secretly has quite a few surprises of his own.

For some reason, Steele can see things about Tech that the others can’t or they've overlooked but now that he knows that Shawn has this fire underneath him—inside of him—he refuses to back down from pushing him to go after his dream.

“Do you like your job, Tech?”
Steele’s fingers twitched against him before releasing a little of the pressure.
Tech wanted it back. Steele’s next question gave him what he wanted.
“Are you happy sitting at that desk every day?”
Steele ducked his head lower, his mouth right by Tech’s ear. “Every day?”
Tech didn’t answer. He wasn’t sure if he should tell the truth.
He didn’t want to come off as a whiny brat wanting more than he was capable of doing.
“Answer me.” Steele pressed his forehead against the side of Tech’s head.
“No. I’m not. But I do what I was hired to do.”

Shawn is nervous but he wants what the other men, his brothers on the team have, and he’s reluctant—due to his own reasons—to give Steele a chance, but he finally does and they are so freaking HOT together. It's more than just sexual, although that is off the charts, but Shawn is sweaters and khaki's and Steele loves that about him.

Steele is old fashioned—he’s traveled the world—he’s a decorated war hero—he’s bedded a few men in his time, but Shawn ”Tech” Murphy is hitting every one of his buttons with aggressiveness, wantonness, eagerness, showing a hint of dominance, and…suddenly I’m looking for the air conditioning controls—in January.

Lovers of this series will also be thrilled to know that God and Day will fill up the pages with super splendid sexy sass as they are best known for as they continue to work out the kinks planning their wedding day. And, speaking of Day, love his heart, he shows a vulnerability that was hard for him but was killing him, internally, to keep everything bottled up.

I love how each individual team member has a role and how they each fill that role magnificently and are there front and center. . .always—at the ready—to help each person and to stand in support—or to beat someone’s ass—whatever/whichever is needed.

You’ll also find lots of humor and laugh out-loud-banter between all the guys and it shows how close they are as a team. They know each other on a level that is almost intimate, but is necessary as it’s also lifesaving.

The way Tech is inside their head in a split second is goose-bump worthy and the descriptive narrative as the author goes from one character to the next—showcasing to the reader the impact of the full scene taking place—pulling each character into play—is hair-raising taking the suspense and the intensity of the scene to OMG levels and. . .just breathe moments.

A.E. Via writes sexy, strong, and powerful bad-ass alpha men who know who they are, stand up for what they believe in and are proud to fight for their cause. Her characters are real, they have values—and flaws—and they have stormed their way into our homes and you can’t help but fall in love with each and every single one of them.

A definite recommended read and while it can read as a standalone, you are missing out to not read the entire series and to read them in order for the best reading enjoyment.
