Hello everyone, and thanks for stopping by MM Book Escape for Kathy’s post on the Opposites Audiobook tour. So, two characters that I had the physical appearance worked out for before I even started writing this book were Aiyan and Kaden. Aiyan is written as young, but a bit fearless. Strong willed and passionate – he is tall, defined and has mesmerizing brown eyes that look like a tigers eye stone. Kaden is the Prince of House Devi. He too is strong willed and passionate.
The moment I saw the first episode of The Vampire Diaries and saw the name “Steven R McQueen” in the credits I had to go see who this kid was. I mean, I was raised by a mother who thought that Steve McQueen was the sexiest man alive. Just so happens that Jeremy in TVD is the late, great, Steve McQueen’s grandson. I decided right then that this tall, handsome drink of water had to be the character for the book I was just starting to outline.
When I decided to make the character from House Devi young Aiyan’s match in the story, I really wanted to be true to the culture of Kaden and find a physical image of someone from that part of the world. Imran Abbas is an actor, model and spokesperson and he’s just fucking beautiful. I find him while searching Indian actors and models online and fell in love with his image.
Since I already had these two picked out, when I started writing I literally wrote the descriptions of the characters around these two actors. To this day, Aiyan and Kaden are very dear to me and I love to continue writing their story. I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
