They're dangerous men.
And totally hot for each other.
Will has never met anyone like Kit. He’s arrogant. Gorgeous. Lethal. The most expensive bodyguard money can buy.
And Will can’t seem to resist him.
A simple command in Kit's cut-glass accent makes Will want things he’s never wanted, do things he’s never done. Their red-hot chemistry is off the charts.
Just one problem: Will has vowed to kill the billionaire that Kit is hell-bent on protecting.
And Kit has secrets, too—his own reasons for sacrificing his soul, piece by painful piece, to keep one of the worst men on earth alive.
Annika Martin and Joanna Chambers are both new authors to me but after reading the prologue, Enemies With Benefits, I was excited to get to the main story of Kit and Will.
Speaking of prologue, If you haven't read it, don't worry, the first nine chapters are provided for you, meaning Enemies Like You starts at 24%.
Assassins, agents, espionage and anything in between are probably my favorite plot devices to read. Throw in two confident, dominating men and I'm there. I loved Will and Kit's character, more so Kit and the story behind what he was doing and why. He had his reasons and my heart broke for him the more the story unfolded.
Will and Kit, together—their chemistry—was super hot and I loved that even though Will was usually in charge and the leader, he had no qualms falling to his knees for Kit. In fact, he craved it.
The story fell flat for me with the spy, agent, aspect of the book. Will—more often than not—had no clue what he was doing and fell out of character as soon as Kit was within distance. The suspense had no suspense and that's part of what I love so much... being on the edge of my seat. His storyline was unbelievable and took away from my enjoyment of the story, however, once I suspended my disbelief and just went for the sexy times I enjoyed it a lot.
The romance part of the story was completely enjoyable and kept me fully engaged and had me smiling quite a bit, as well. I can't say enough good things about Kit and his character and I loved the creativity of his role as assassin/bodyguard/arm-candy.
The story comes to a close rather quickly leaving the reader satisfied well enough but I would love to have seen more about Will and Kit and their plans for the future.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read but I wasn't glued to my kindle as I'd hoped.
