I buried my twin sister six months after she found out she had cancer. Her funeral was three months ago. Today is our birthday and it started with delivery of letters from her.
It seems she didn’t trust me to move on after her death. She knows me too well. But how can I go on when my other half is just...gone? That’s not something I can recover from with a snap of my fingers. But I also can’t ignore her instructions even though I’d be perfectly content to cuddle up with my buddy, Johnnie Walker, and call it a year.
She has a list of things for me to do and there are rules attached.
There’s one major problem besides the fact it’s been three months since I left the house. I have to do all these things with her jerk of an ex, Hawk Simmons. He abandoned her shortly after she found out she was sick. If that wasn’t enough to make this a really bad idea, the fact that he makes an appearance in all my nighttime fantasies probably does.
I don’t think I can do this, but I owe it to my sister’s memory to try.

AUTHOR CHRISTI SNOW
As an avid reader her entire life, Christi Snow always dreamed of writing books that brought to others the kind of joy she felt when she read. But…she never did anything about it besides jot down a few ideas and sparse scenes.
When she turned 41, she decided it was time to go after her dream and started writing. Within four months, she’d written over 150,000 words and hasn't stopped since.
She's found her calling by writing about sexy, alpha heroes and smart, tough heroines falling in love and finding their passion. She's truly living the dream and loving every minute of it.
Her tagline is… Passion and adventure on the road to Happily Ever After. She's loving this adventure!
Believe in the Wish, by Christi Snow is my first book by this author and I was completely engrossed in this story. I was moved and touched on many levels. Partly because I'm a twin myself and have twins. This story resonated with me deeply as I've had a close call a time or two with my own twin sister.
Another reason, the writing was beautiful and emotional, yet uplifting, as Ethan and Hawk share this journey of living together.
Emma, even from the grave was remarkable and knew her brother so well. She was vital to this story; bringing two men she loved dearly... together.
Through letters and shared memories, the reader gets to know Emma, her sense of humor, and the love for her brother was paramount and so apparent. She was a beautiful soul taken too early, but she didn't let that stop her from seeing to it that her brother continued to live.
Ethan and Emma, best friends, were always close except sharing details about the men in their lives due to an unfortunate misunderstanding in their teen years. When Emma passes and her ex, Hawk, is nowhere around, Ethan automatically hates his guts.
Stuck in his own world, Ethan is struggling to get through each day, turning to alcohol and becomes even more of a recluse.
When Katya Monroe knocks on his door, Emma's lawyer, with instructions from Emma that he must complete—or he loses not only his house but their shared business—he is confused. To make it worse, these 25 tasks must be completed with Hawk.
He is gutted by Emma's betrayal and questions her sanity. He begins to panic, he doesn't understand, there's no way she would do this to him!
Remember...I love YOU! Trust me in this. I know what I'm doing. —Emma
Hawk receives the same letter but unbeknownst to Ethan, he has his own turmoil he has been dealing with and trying to get through each day.
Hawk—tall, dark, and handsome, is the bad-boy motorcycle riding hunk that Ethan wants but since he can't stand him for what he has done to Emma he can't show his feelings.
Ethan—nerdy graphic designer who under his baggy t-shirts has muscle definition that turns Hawk... all kinds of hot and horny.
Blindsided at every turn, Ethan does what he has too in order to get through each task, but the more time he and Hawk spend together the more he sees a different side. The more he realizes he doesn't know as much as he thought he did. It's possible he may have judged him unfairly.
Hawk is a man with many hidden doors, and slowly, Ethan starts to open each one and it was awesome to see them coming together, opening up, sharing their truths, and ultimately believing in the wish.
I was afraid this story would drag me down, emotionally and mentally, given the context, but it didn't. It was just the opposite.
Christi Snow had me glued to the pages with anticipation for Ethan and Hawk's story. Their banter is hilarious plus you have the magnificent Miller, Hawk's best friend, who rocked the story in his own way. And, once they lose their sharp edge with each other... trust me when I say their sexual chemistry and encounters were extremely hot and sizzling.
This is a must read, in my opinion. Ethan and Hawk's journey is hard but so worth it. They both struggle with different aspects of Emma's tasks but the love they have for her shines through in everything they do.
There are some details that were left unexplained or overlooked, but in the grand scheme, I also feel they are irrelevant to this particular story. And, it is an amazing story that will bring tears but also show you life is for the living.
