#ReleaseBlitz — Dirty Games by Barbara Elsborg + Giveaway — Available Now!
The last thing Linton needs when he arrives home after three months in the States, is to find his beautiful flat is a squat, complete with his younger brother Dirk, who’s lying in Linton’s bed with a couple who’ve paid him for sex. Dirk isn’t even supposed to have a key. But after Linton throws Dirk out, life slams in hard and if his brother is to have any hope of a future, Linton has to play dirty. Or at least pretend to. What he hasn’t factored in is having to play the game to the bitter end.
Film star Thorne Morrisey has everything. Good looks, charm, seductive magnetism and a voice that could charm a snake from its basket. He can also be a real shit and yet people still love him - though he’d rather not have the love of his ex. Owen’s a suicidal wreck after Thorne dumped him in a very public and humiliating way and Owen’s wealthy brother has his own reasons for wanting revenge on Thorne. Max’s weapon of choice is his employee, Linton.
Linton and Thorne are on a collision course and in for the game of their lives. But who’s playing who?
Barbara Elsborg lives in Kent in the South of England. She always wanted to be a spy, but having confessed to everyone without them even resorting to torture, she decided it was not for her. Vulcanology scorched her feet. A morbid fear of sharks put paid to marine biology. So instead, she spent several years successfully selling cyanide.
After dragging up two rotten, ungrateful children and frustrating her sexy, devoted, wonderful husband (who can now stop twisting her arm) she finally has time to conduct an affair with an electrifying plugged-in male, her laptop.
Her books feature quirky heroines and bad boys, and she hopes they are as much fun to read as they were to write.
Once I started reading Dirty Games I couldn't stop. There's revenge, blackmail, hot sex, and the banter between the two main characters will having you laughing out loud, literally, throughout the entire story.
Linton has just returned to the UK—after being in the states for 3 months—to a wrecked apartment and his brother piled up in his bed with a couple who paid him for sex. The more he looks around, the more filth he finds, the angrier he becomes which leads to tossing his brother out on the street.
Thorne is an actor and according to his jilted ex, Owen, has a wicked mean streak. Owen is now seeking revenge. Max, Owen's brother, is also Linton's boss, who blackmails Linton into pretending to fall for Thorne so he can dump him the same way Thorne dumped Owen.
I'm not going to get into the plot any more than that because it sounds kind of complicated to write down, but it's really not. There are quite a few characters to keep up with but I had no problems following along with the story line.
Linton realizes very quickly the flaw manipulating Thorne. From the beginning, he liked him. They have great chemistry, they are hilarious when they are together—always joking—teasing—and flirting. The banter between them will have you laughing constantly.
Linton is not intimidated by Thorne's success, nor does he hesitate to put him in his place and Thorne finds that quite the turn-on.
They share personal stories with each other, something they haven't done with another person, allowing them to get to know each other better. Both have quick-wit and funny come-backs and Thorne's story of his bear had me rolling me on the floor.
Dirty Games is fast paced, super sexy, and hilarious, but there's also a very interesting, and deeper story, that keeps you pulled in from start to finish. You won't walk away without some angst and maybe even a few tears but it was worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
