Snowcroft Restoration is the fourth book in Christi Snow's Snowcroft Men series, however, it's the first one I've read. I think having prior knowledge of the previous books would have helped but overall it didn't take away too much from the story.
Law still struggles with nightmares after an undercover operation turned tragic but he's asked to go in for back-up for Ian Mayne, the son to the man who owned the conversion camp and the horrible place where Law's torture took place.
Ian is wracked with guilt over his father's horrendous ways and is trying to make things right. He sets out to find his friend, Nicholas, who has gone missing. He starts working undercover in a nightclub owned by Ramirez Jones, who also happens to be the son of a biker gang known for violence against the LGBT community.
Law and Ian form a connection, mainly out of attraction, but also due to their shared history. They, both, are damaged and have suffered tremendously—albeit differently—at the hands of Ian's father.
I loved, both, Ian and Law, but I didn't feel their strong connection, although they have strong chemistry. I think they go well together and belong together, both having an in-depth understanding of each other's pain that no one else would.
I just felt with the trauma, the investigation, being on the run, always looking over your shoulder—plus taking care of their guests—never gave them time to concentrate on themselves the way they needed too.
This could also be from me not reading the other books in the series, as well. They may have a deeper history that I'm not familiar with.
Nicholas and Rameriz, on the other hand, who may be the next couple, really have my interest. I may be the only one, but I'm rooting for them. Rameriz, I believe, has some hidden qualities he just needs someone to see and bring to the surface. Nicholas could be that man.
Snowcroft Restoration is action-packed with a good dose of suspense, and it doesn't hurt that Christi Snow knows how to write compelling sexy scenes. The plot is rather complicated, with several key factors at play, but by the end it all makes sense.
I would recommend reading the books in order just to gain the backstory, but the author puts enough information in if you decide not too.
