#ReleaseDay #Review ∙ Volume 2 ∙ The Misadventures of Doc and Dirk ∙ by Dan Skinner is on tour!!
TITLE: THAT DARN MUSE
SERIES: THE MISADVENTURES OF DOC AND DIRK - VOLUME TWO
AUTHOR: DAN SKINNER
PUBLICATION DATE: SEPTEMBER 16, 2016
BLURB: He's a middle-aged, newly single, gay photographer starting life over. Along comes a freshly out nineteen-year-old, irreverent free spirit who wants to be his apprentice. Mismatched by more than a generation, what could possibly go wrong?
Everything! And it's AWESOME!
A "Muse" ing: Most authors struggle with the voices or "muses" in their head when writing. Tuning that voice out becomes a little more challenging when your muse is a real-life nineteen-year-old who inhales espresso and turns out ideas at light speed.
Danger Will Robinson!
Daddy and The Rent Boy: In selling something, advertising is half the battle. That can become hazardous when you're in the company of an irreverent walking billboard.
Oh my gosh, this is the best reading ever. Volume Two is just as funny, maybe even more so than Volume One, as Doc and Dirk continue to discover more about each other.
In this episode, Dirk invites Doc to his home for Thanksgiving with Mom and Grandmama and I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud so much while reading. Oh, wait. . . yes I can–volume one.
Maybe because I have two boys of my own that I can relate to some of these situations, but I absolutely love Dirk and his Dirkism's even though they can be dangerous for the people in his vicinity, Lol.
Grandmama: What's the matter with you, sweetheart?
Dirk: Dan destroyed my ass the other day.
And the room goes silent. Woulda been nice to tell them that we had worked out together. . .
Probably 95% of the book had me laughing with inappropriate outbursts, but then there is that 5% that really touches my heart when Dan talks about the gift that Dirk has given him as his muse.
Find out how Dirk becomes Doc's muse plus more adventures between these two that are laugh out loud funny and will keep a smile on your face from start to finish.
I know a few Dirkism's that will, most likely hit me at random moments, making me laugh for several days. A must read series that's super fun and highly enjoyable. Looking forward to the next book 5 Stars
