TITLE: ALWAYS YOU
SERIES: FATED HEART SERIES #6
AUTHOR: AIMEE NICOLE WALKER
RELEASE DAY: JUNE 14, 2016
I’d often felt lost in the shadow of my older brother, Sebastian Blake. People either ran from me in fear or tried to use me to get to him. In my struggle to forge my own path, I’d taken a wrong turn a time or two, which nearly cost me my life. It’s true that what doesn’t kill you can make you stronger, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t filled with self-doubt and questioned my worthiness of being loved.
The minute I met Tomas Sarantos, I knew there was something special between us. I felt a connection to him that I’d never felt with anyone else, but I sadly watched the heat fade from his eyes the minute he learned who I was. My only choices were to accept his offer of friendship or nothing at all.
Tom became the best friend I’d ever had and I fell deeper in love with him every day. I died a little bit inside every time he talked about the love he was hoping to find and the family he wanted to have with someone else. My heart screamed at me to tell him that his search was over and that I was right there in front of him. Yet, I held my tongue and battled myself daily for over a year to hide my feelings from him. I lacked the courage to make a move, no matter how tired I was of denying my feelings for him.

I finally had everything I’d dreamed of when I accepted the position of CFO at Blake Industries – well, almost everything. I still hadn’t found the man I wanted to build a life with, until I met Wesley King. He was everything I ever wanted, but he was also the one I could never have. Dating in the workplace was risky enough, but falling in love with the CEO’s only brother was professional suicide. Too bad my heart wasn’t in agreement.
Wesley became the most important person in my life, the one I shared everything with except the one thing I wanted to give him – my heart. For an entire year, I tried to talk myself out of loving him and focused my efforts on finding someone attainable. I probably set a world record for dating disasters and all that I accomplished was to make me want Wesley even more.
Then life threw me a curveball and made me reevaluate everything. I could either take a chance that Wesley still felt the spark I once saw in him or continue on being miserable in the “friend zone.” It would either be the happiest time of my life or the most mortifying, but I’d never know unless I tried.

Only You was the very first book by Aimee Nicole Walker I ever read and I fell so hard- in love with Adam and Sebastian and, coincidentally, my love for the author and everything she writes began. I was thrilled to learn that Always You would take us back to the world of Blake Industries where Wesley King, Sebastian’s brother, and Tomas Sarantos worked together as a formidable and powerful team.
Being best friends with Wes is great but Tom wants the full benefits package including the white picket fence. Once he gets the go ahead from Sebastian, it’s full steam ahead. His plan is to take it slow in order to show and convince Wes he really is in love with him, and it’s not just to get into his pants. However, Wes has been waiting a long time, too, so he’s all for moving at a faster pace.
The things these two say and do had me laughing aloud, over and over. Their banter back and forth and their playful and jovial spirit is contagious and had me backing up and re-reading phrases just to keep smiling. From the first day, Wes and Tomas had a spark, but fear of losing his job - he had just started - kept Tomas on the straight and narrow, so a friendship was built that soon took precedence over anyone and everything else in each other’s lives.
Tomas is getting impatient for his HEA so he thinks by going out on dates in hopes of finding “the one” will help, but all he’s doing is making Wes feel more insecure and unwanted. They both have made mistakes in their past, they both have been hurt so they have trust issues, but they also know that life is too short and they have already wasted enough time without the other.
Everyone knows what they obviously fail to see. Tired of watching them miss all of the signals, Sebastian gives Tomas his approval with an emphasis to keep it PG at the office.
Tomas and Wesley at elevator at work
“He’s given me the green light to pursue what I want most in the world on two conditions.”
“W -what conditions?” His nervous stammering was fucking adorable.
“We keep our personal relationship away from the office and that he’ll hunt me down and kill me if I hurt you.” I rubbed the tip of my nose against his and embraced the soft sigh that escaped Wesley’s mouth. “One of those will be so fucking hard to do and the other one will be a piece of cake. Guess which one I’ll struggle with, Wes.” My fingers itched to touch him, to press against his bare flesh and file them away in my memory. “I want to kiss you so fucking bad, but a promise is a promise.” The elevator pinged and I stepped away from him.
Wes and Tom have a beautiful friendship so moving into an intimate relationship only emphasized how special and incredible these two are together. They have their moments like everyone else, but they have a level of maturity that is very refreshing and they crave each other with an intensity that is breathtaking. They know what they want, how they want it, and they don’t care who knows it, but just in case someone may have an issue, there’s always a family member ready to get the point across if needed.
Speaking of family, Always You focuses a lot on family and being there for each other, whether that’s due to sickness or just having a bad day, family are the backbone for your support and strength. Sharing laughter and love with each other and being around those closest are what’s important. The author highlights the closeness each family have individually and now, through Wesley and Tomas, two families merge together creating an even bigger family that is pretty awesome. Any family that includes Gram is going to be top notch!!
Any lover of the Fated Heart Series will get extra feel good vibes as we cross paths again with our favorites, i.e. Gram, Lennie, Chase, Gray, JJ, etc, as they all come together for a joyous celebration. I think it is brilliant how Aimee included Adam and Sebastian into the family of Fated Hearts and they will now forever be connected. All of my favorites together.
This is a love story, at its core, and what it means to love unconditionally. The author touches on several issues in Always You such as Cancer, Addiction, Suicide, Depression, and even though they are not in depth topics they are still touched on because these are everyday things people face. Families face. The author writes of strength and courage, hope, and wisdom that she, herself, pulls from each day and that commitment and belief inspire all of us to reach deeper. The Fated Hearts family is strong but even they sometimes need help and it’s okay to reach out and ask for it. Another beautiful story with an incredible, happy tears, smile from ear to ear, ending.
