New Release Review - Chance (Demon Gate Series) ep #7 by Nicholas Bella

BLURB: “Just when I thought I had enough on my plate... fate, or the cosmos or whatever, decides I'm not stressed enough and pours on another helping of what the hell!”

My failure to prevent a particularly nasty demon from completing a ritual to open a portal may have doomed us all unless I can stop what came through. That, of course, is easier said than done. Because what came through happens to be one of the most sadistic and dangerous demons that the eighth level of hell could spit out. I may be a powerful soul-eating demon, but even I don’t think that I’m a match for this demon. I know one thing, I’m going to need help.

Warning: This serial contains strong adult content not meant for sensitive eyes. The novelettes in this serial will be filled with dark, twisted, raunchy and steamy scenes between powerful, sexy men that will either offend you or get ya revved up. This series will not be pulling any punches, and it won’t apologize for hurting your feelings, either. You’ll find no fluff and ruffles here. These demons play hard and they fight dirty.

REVIEW: Chance continues with Brian’s determination to find the demons that are killing human families including the children. The scene left behind by these merciless demons are gruesome and hard to take even for Brian who is getting used to seeing death and the destruction left behind by the demon’s hand.

Their situation has them in dire need to find any and all information that will lead them to the demons responsible and the portals that allow their entrance. Because of this, King Adriel has summoned a new demon to help Brian with the case.

Lord Rohan is very skilled as a demon but taking on a human body is something new. Adriel has tasked Brian and Raphael with caring for him and taking care of any needs he has. This opens up a bout of insecurity with Brian who has just recently admitted to having strong feelings for Raphael.

At first, he feels jealous and has doubts he can pleasure King Rohan, but leave it to Raphael to show him his feelings are unjustified.  With Raphael taking lead, Brian joins in and soon realizes the error of his ways. Pleasing the new demon and showing him different ways to meet his desires soon has Brian feeling very confident in his ability especially when Lord Rohan screams out in bliss.

I love seeing Brian more confident as a lover and a boyfriend. He freely admits his feelings now for his mate and it’s encouraging to see their relationship thrive. They seem to have settled into domestic bliss but of course it wouldn’t be Brian if he didn’t stick his foot in his mouth at least ten times a day.

Whether it be with Adriel or Raphael he tends to speak before he thinks causing him to back pedal quickly. I, also, see him becoming more confident in his abilities as a demon, but I would love to see him be honest with his sister and his work partner, Sheila.

However, the demon killings are piling up and Brian works hard to find answers to stop the massacre that has his city under siege. As a demon enforcer for the society, Brian learns that there may be more people in his human world merging with his demon world. Only time will tell how this new information will play out.

This world the author has created continues to be more and more complex and my mind continues to be fascinated as more demons are brought into the present. As you read further into the Demon Gate series you will see how intricately each new demon plays into the story. The depth they will go for their cause and purpose seems endless but the good guys, such as Brian and the society are forever working just as diligently to stop their pursuit.

You win some you lose some seems to be the theme at the moment, but I have faith in Brian, and even more so in Raphael, that demon justice will prevail. If you love this type of world where humans live and demons thrive you will certainly enjoy Demon Gate. At times it appears that hell has opened its gates but hopefully Brian and those like him will stop the bad from taking over.

Overall, another enjoyable episode with more twists and turns to keep you on your toes. And, of course, Nicholas Bella doesn’t disappoint as he closes this episode with a big fat cliffhanger. A jaw-dropping, are you kidding, moment. With all these new characters coming into play I foresee a bigger condo in the works. 5 Stars from me.

About me? Hmmm, I'm just a person with a wild imagination and a love for words who was sitting around the house one day and said, "Why hasn't anyone written a book like this before?". As with every storyteller, I wanted to share mine with the world. I like my erotica dark, gritty, sexy... and even a little raunchy. I'm not afraid to go there and I hope you aren't afraid to go there with me. When I'm not writing, I love watching movies and TV shows, clubbing, biking, and hanging out with family and friends. I love life.

I'd love to hear from you, feel free to send me a shout out!
