#BlogTour Welcome Kris Cook author of The Fireman in Unit C (A Mockingbird Place Novel)
Though starting in straight erotic romance, Kris's total focus now is on gay romance. When asked why recently, his answer was "My muse finally came out of the closet. Isn't it about time? I’ve been out since I was twenty-five." A voracious reader, Kris loves many genres of fiction, but this writer's favorite books are romances that are edgy, sexy, with rich characters and unique challenges. Kris' influences include Anne Rice, JR Ward, Lexi Blake and Shayla Black. Last year, Kris married the love of his life Stephen.
We're back at Mockingbird Place and it's Jackson's turn at finding love. He's got someone in mind, but before he can open himself up to finding his HEA, he needs to sort through some of the baggage that he carries.
However, his problems get pushed to the back of his mind when he discovers that Eli, the sexy fireman in Unit C, is trapped inside the apartment going up in flames.
Until Eli can get his unit back to normal he moves in with Jackson. He has been infatuated with him for a while but he also has an ex, Scott, who can't seem to accept their relationship is over.
Jackson has quite a few issues of his own he needs to work out, and Scott showing up constantly, needing Eli, only secures his thoughts more that the two of them will never be able to work.
Unfortunately, Scott is the least of Jackson's troubles, because there is someone else who won't take no for an answer and Jackson may have more trouble that he can deal with.
The residents at Mockingbird Place come out in full force lending helping hands to, both, Jackson and Eli. When anyone has trouble or needs help you can always count on everyone pitching in and doing what's needed for each other. They really are one big family that will put a smile on your face as they push and shove in each other's lives.
As Jackson and Eli work on their problems they realize that confiding in each other will only help their relationship. Jackson has been consumed by guilt since his teenage years over a decision that was out of his control, and it's keeping him from finding happiness and love with Eli.
Will Jackson be able to let go of the past in order to have a future with Eli? More importantly, will he even have a chance when the unknown threat presents itself and Jackson is left to face off with more danger and fire? Eli will need to save Jackson this time, if he's not too late.
Now that Mockingbird Place has quite a few units filled, it feels like visiting relatives as you read a new story. The author puts a little bit of mystery and suspense into each story but the bulk of the stories are about love.
Being able to find love and then accept it when you do find it. Fortunately, there are quite a few people at Mockingbird Place that will help in anyway possible to make sure they get their HEA.
Each novella that makes up Mockingbird Place adds a new layer of finding love and laughter around people that only have each other's best interest at heart making it a great place to live. 4 stars from me.
