Blurb: Gabriel Wyatt is a big city Detective living in a small Ohio town. He expects a peaceful existence once he moves from Miami, Florida, but that’s the last thing he finds. Instead, Gabe discovers murder, mayhem, and one smart-mouthed stylist he can’t get out of his head.
Josh “Jazz” Roman is a small town salon owner with big dreams and an attitude to match. He finds himself in the middle of a case that brings the dreamy detective to his front door. Josh learns that the biggest threat to him isn’t a killer; it’s a man who wants something from him that he vowed to never give again - his heart.
Both men deny that there’s something between them, even though they’re drawn together like magnets.
Blissville, Ohio is a small town where everyone knows everyone, feels cozy and familiar, and sets the backdrop for Dyeing to be Loved, by Aimee Nicole Walker. Josh Roman is making a name for himself and his salon, Curl Up and Dye, and after renting for five years, he finally has his own place, thanks to his parents, and business is booming.
Josh runs his salon with the help of his two best friends, Chaz and Meredith, but when a temp fills in for the day and a mishap with the schedule creates a conflict with the client list, mayhem takes over and a catastrophe of epic proportions erupt between the current and the previous Mrs. Mayor.
Josh is irate, appalled, and distressed over the knock-down-drag-out fight between the two ladies, but most of all, he’s heartbroken that he may have let his friend down knowing how much she couldn’t stand the new Mrs. Mayor. Standing on her sidewalk bright and early, to make amends, throws him in a whirlwind of emotions when he comes face to face with the sexy detective, Gabriel Wyatt.
Gabe has been chasing his feelings for a while now about Josh and still can’t figure out what to do about the infuriating man that he can’t stop thinking about. He’s not sure if he even likes him, but he would like to have the chance to get to know him better. However, every time they get close Josh ends up running out on him.
And why is that? They have some pretty heated encounters when they do get together, but Josh manages to find fault with Gabe or, at least, in his head he is sure he has faults. . . he must! He's a man!
A SEXY GORGEOUS HUNK OF A MAN DAMMIT!
As they close in on the killer, small town gossip goes wild and Gabe gets the short end of the straw. It does give Josh a new perspective and has him looking at Gabe differently and for that I was pleased as I know Gabe was too.
Finally, some progress. Physically, they have the connection, but emotionally, they are not there, yet.
They are just at the beginning stages of liking each other where they can admit, not only to themselves, but to others—and now the fun starts.
Curly Up and Dye Mysteries run parallel with love and mystery in the narrative giving you a little of each which I love. I love the suspense and the "whodoneit" theme that's always in the background making you question each person taking page time.
I was surprised at who the killer was, but I’m not sure I’m convinced this person acted alone. I still have some questions so I’m looking forward to maybe getting those answered in the next book. The epilogue gives us a hint at where that will take us and Gabe has some explaining to do across county lines, A great start to a great new series. 5 Stars

I am a wife and mother to three kids, three dogs, and a cat. When I’m not dreaming up stories, I like to lose myself in a good book, cook or bake. I'm a girly tomboy who paints her fingernails while watching sports and yelling at the referees. I will always choose the book over the movie. I believe in happily-ever-after. Love inspires everything that I do. Music keeps me sane.
